Who I Am Voting For in the 2024 American Presidential Election
Your True “Vote”
With the American presidential election taking place in less than a week, and given how high stakes this election is, I felt spontaneously compelled to write my opinion on this upcoming election.
Before I give my analysis and tell you who I will be voting for, I want to elaborate more on what I take the concept of “voting” to actually mean in hopes of expanding your definition of this concept.
In my eye, “voting” is something much more complex than the name you decide to write on the ballot.
Too often I see people get excessively riled up about political elections, diving down internet rabbit holes, devoting enormous quantities of their time, energy, and attention in order to feel secure and righteous in their political attitudes.
Not that it is a bad thing to do lots of political research, but what I see for many people is that politics for them becomes an enormous energetic black hole, leading them to fixate on everything “bad” about the opposition and everything “good” about who they see as the better candidate, leading them to discuss endlessly and debate their friends, family members, and randoms online on their viewpoints.
All of this takes away from where one’s true “vote” lies, which is the action one takes towards the greatest, most grand, most high vision they have for themselves and for the world.
All too often I see people chalking up an excessively large portion of their collective impact towards which political candidate they pencil in on the ballot.
This perspective is incredibly disempowering, and takes away from the fact that there are countless other, more effective and more intrinsically fulfilling ways to “vote” for the reality in which you desire.
Given my audience, I imagine virtually all of you reading this desire to inhabit a reality that is more loving, peaceful, harmonious, free, wise, conscious, and unified than our present one.
And you “vote” for this reality by being these qualities.
You can vote for this reality by being connected to your heart, by being authentic, by living your life purpose, by writing about it, by talking about it, by making music about it, by holding space for others, by disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and finding inner stillness, by walking in a forest, by creating communities, by empowering people to be themselves, by spending your money consciously, by intaking new perspectives, by exposing yourself to more experience, by never abandoning the deepest yearnings of your soul…the ways in which you can “vote” for this reality are endless!
Moral of the story: Don’t let politics become an obsessive fixation that takes away from where your true “vote” lies.
However, with that being said, the name you write on the ballot is still quite important, for the person that gets elected president has a significant impact on countless lives, both domestically and globally.
I normally would not be writing about this issue, not much of my energy has been devoted towards politics in recent years, but I felt compelled to write my opinion on this election because I have an intuitive feel that this 2024 election is the most significant and important election in the United States’ nearly 250 year history thus far.
To me, this election feels like a turning point, with whomever being elected, whether it be Donald Trump or Kamala Harris, setting up a domino effect for decades to come.
Let’s continue.
The Most Dangerous Political Candidate in United States’ History
I don’t intend for this post to be a long one, because it does not need to be.
I am not going to dive into any deep analysis on the policies of both the Trump and Harris campaigns, because to do so is unnecessary and would paint both of the candidates as being falsely equal.
The reality is that these candidates and their campaigns are not at all equal when it comes to their level of intelligence, love, consciousness, maturity, and thus their ability to bring positive outcomes for all people.
One candidate is far more immature, selfish, narcissistic, deluded, egoic, and thus dangerous than the other.
In fact, I would go as far to say that this candidate is the most dangerous political candidate in United States history.
That this is not obvious to the masses says a lot about the state of America.
All I care about communicating in this post is how incredibly poisonous another Donald Trump presidency would be for this nation, and really for the world-at-large.
If you’ve ever tuned into the man’s energy and heard him speak, it should become obvious very quickly that the guy is a narcissistic con-artist.
Donald Trump regularly belittles and demonizes his opponents, boasts about himself constantly, has literally zero integrity, was unable to accept that he lost an election so he indirectly provoked a literal attack on the capitol, is a convicted felon, has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women, garners most of his support via fear-mongering, was recently having an affair with a white supremacist conspiracy theorist, and has also been documented to have lied TENS OF THOUSANDS of times during his campaign and presidency.
And this is only scratching the surface.
Politics aside, what does it say about a nation who elects this type of person as a leader?
What are we teaching our youth when the person we are all supposed to look up to is a narcissist?
It’s absolutely disgusting to me that this man has a legit chance at becoming president again, that the masses cannot see the absurdity in this is even more disappointing than the disgust I feel.
With all of that being said, Donald Trump is a damn good con-artist.
I would go as far to say he is the Michael Jordan of bullshitting.
He knows his audience, he knows how to rile them up, he’s a master of painting himself and his campaign in a positive light.
But given that he has been documented to have lied tens of thousands of times, how can you trust a damn word that comes out of the guy's mouth?
Of course, I have only talked about Trump’s character so far, and it is valid for one to believe that Trump’s team as a whole could lead to better outcomes than what Trump’s individual character represents.
But still, I find the main talking points of the people who support Trump’s campaign to be shallow, and even downright false.
One of the arguments I commonly hear is that Trump is “for the people” (a populist), and against toxic, corrupt, “elites.”
Those that believe this think that Trump will somehow empower the everyday working and middle class, while ignoring the fact that Trump himself is actually one of these toxic, corrupt elites, and all of the other billionaire “elites” such as Elon Musk support him because they know that Trump will only make them even richer!
Don’t just take my word for it, read this article about how Trump’s tax cuts during his presidency only made the rich richer.
Probably the most common argument I hear is that Trump is anti-war, with the point that there were no major wars during his presidency and now two major wars during the Biden presidency being the reason that Trump is obviously the better candidate than Biden.
However, what this argument overlooks is the fact that Biden had virtually no control over those two wars starting.
In addition, it should be very concerning that Israel Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, favors Trump over Harris.
You can read this article regarding more details, but to me it seems like Trump is all in favor of continuing to help Israel wipe Palestine off the map, thus continuing a literal genocide.
Of course, the current Biden campaign is helping fund this as well, and the Harris campaign also likely will, but you should make note of Netanyahu’s preference and be aware of what Israel’s aims are.
To me, when it comes to this issue, a vote for Trump seems like a vote for more war, more destruction, more genocide than what is already taking place.
Another common argument I hear is “But the economy was booming when Trump was president!”
This is true for the most part, but it was not because of Trump himself.
Trump inherited Obama’s economy, so he really cannot take the credit for the economy being in a stellar state during the time of his presidency.
These are all just a few common talking points I hear, but they really shouldn’t matter much when it comes to determining which candidate will lead to better outcomes for humanity.
That Trump will lead to worse outcomes for the country should be obvious by taking an honest look into his character and energetic qualities, as well as the character of those who support him.
The fact of the matter is that Trump is a narcissistic con-man, and narcissistic thinking tends to breed a divisive, fascist consciousness, where:
Violence against opponents is encouraged (think attack on the capitol)
Black and white thinking is rampant
Objective truth is rejected in favor of narratives that will promote one’s ideology (think the fact that he has lied tens of thousands of times and will say literally anything to advance his campaign, whether it is true or not)
Minority groups are scapegoated (Trump does this all the time)
Democracy breaks down (Trump rejected the election results, provoked an attack on the capitol, said himself that future elections will be “taken care of” if he wins in 2024 — WTF does that mean??)
Sounds eerily similar to Nazi Germany to me.
A vote for Trump is a vote for corruption, violence, racism, toxic nationalism, white supremacy, patriarchy, fundamentalist Christian ideology, an increasing wealth gap between rich and poor, corporate exploitation, the loss of autonomy for women over their own bodies, anti-LGBTQ rights, the continued destruction of the climate, the potential loss of democracy (not that we have much of one anyway), and much more.
With all of this being said, Kamala Harris is a mediocre candidate who is basically just a talking head for all mainstream democratic party narratives.
There are many points to be made about elements of her campaign being harmful, there are points to be made about the Democrats also being corrupt, but I don’t care to dive into these points here because the corruption and toxicity and danger that Trump and the Republicans present so loudly outweighs the danger that Kamala and the Democrats present.
Of course, there are other third party candidates as well but none of them have any chance of making any real noise in the election.
The stakes are too high in this election for me to seriously consider voting for any of them, so I have to go with the side that has the best chance of defeating Donald Trump.
And so, I will be voting for Kamala Harris.
Get out and vote!
But remember, don’t forget to “vote” in other ways as well!
With love and intention,
-Wyeth
